Bard Malovany CFP®
Director of Investments
Bard’s focus is on understanding the academic and theoretical aspects of investment management and translating those into practical solutions; creating sophisticated but practical financial planning strategies for clients; and most importantly, trying to develop a comprehensive and personal understanding of his clients and providing them the best possible advice.
After a brief but prestigious career as a ski instructor in Breckenridge, Colorado, Bard moved back to Northern Virginia, where he grew up. He left a small financial advisory firm to join his now-retired partner, Peter, in starting this practice. Bard received his Certificate in Financial Planning from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1999 and his Certified Financial Planners designation in 2000. Most recently, Bard earned his Certified Business Exit Consultant designation, which is a year-long educational program designed for advisors to help business owners navigate the issues surrounding exiting their businesses.
When Bard isn’t at work, he’s at home, working or trying to corral his two kids, Caleb and Mira, whose pictures and antics occasionally grace our newsletter.
